We are excited to share highlights from a recent trip that took us behind the scenes of a critical part of our mission. Aaron, Adam and Bobby from the Make A Difference Foundation visited the Level FOUR Ceramic Protective Vest factory in Afula, Israel to learn more about the life-saving gear we provide to IDF soldiers.
During the visit, they saw firsthand how each vest is carefully crafted to meet the unique mission needs of every soldier, ensuring no two vests are the same. Whether it’s mobility, endurance, or additional protection, the customization makes these vests true lifelines for soldiers on the front lines. Each vest costs between $1,650 and $2,000—an investment that directly saves lives.
Fast-Release Technology: Saving Lives in Action
The team learned about the innovative one-hand fast-release mechanism, allowing soldiers to quickly remove the vest even if wounded in one arm—ensuring they receive medical care without delay.
The factory also demonstrated a fast-release harness for service dogs used in tunnel operations. Service dogs are lowered into nine-story tunnels, and when they complete their tasks, they return to the drop-off point to be retrieved. In the past, soldiers had to enter the tunnels to bring the dogs back, exposing them to ambushes. Now, with a magnetic retrieval system, handlers can safely pull the dogs back up without descending into danger.
A Special Partnership to Maximize Impact
Reflecting on the visit, Aaron Shuster shared:
