Shelter, Service, Solidarity, and Gratitude in the Midst of Chaos

Serving Israeli soldiers on and off the battlefield.

Hello!

This week, our message comes with deep gratitude—and from a place of raw emotion.

Co-founder Aaron Shuster and his wife, Sel, are currently in Israel, where they traveled to host two planned Make A Difference Foundation-sponsored hot meals for IDF soldiers and surrounding communities—and to personally hand-deliver essential supplies to the soldiers in the field. But those plans are now on hold.

As tensions escalated between Israel and Iran, they found themselves in the middle of a rapidly changing and dangerous situation. Watch and experience the warning sirens and incoming missiles.

In Aaron’s words, shared with our WhatsApp community last week:

“The alarm went off while we were on the road. We drove into a shopping center’s underground parking lot and ran to the shelter. Inside were all ages—young children, babies, and even pets. About 50 of us in a 10×12 foot stairwell. Two dogs. Three cats. One bird. You could feel the fear—but also the unity.”

This is the new reality for so many across Israel: moments of uncertainty punctuated by alarms, rushed evacuations, and the sobering knowledge that danger can come at any time.

And yet, amidst this fear, we are constantly reminded of the courage and connection that define our community.

One such reminder came from Tony, a longtime army friend of Aaron’s and now a member of the MADF WhatsApp group. Recently called back for 60 days and nights of reserve duty alongside his son, Tony shared his deep appreciation for the medical supplies and tactical equipment MADF provided to both of their units.

It’s because of your donations that these soldiers are safer today.

It’s because of our volunteers that we continue showing up—in person, in spirit, and with unwavering commitment.

We’re So Grateful for You

To our volunteers who pack, carry, cook, deliver, and comfort…
To our donors who send love through supplies and gifts from afar…
To every one of you who checks in, shares our mission, and prays for peace…

Thank you. You are the heart of this movement.

🛡️ Urgent Need: Protective Vests for Called-Up Reservists

Three MADF-affiliated reservists have just been called up for duty—and they need protection now. We are currently raising funds to provide three protective vests, each costing $1,650.

Your donation today can directly protect these brave Israelis on the front lines.

Holding On to Hope

Our mission continues—even when it has to pause. We’re hopeful that conditions will allow Aaron and Sel to complete their meal missions soon, serving over 280 soldiers and residents in the north and south of Israel.

In the meantime, we stand ready with gear, food, and love. And we ask you to stay with us.

Even in bomb shelters, our founders are thinking of how to keep helping others.

Let’s keep standing with them—and with the soldiers, families, and communities relying on us.

With gratitude,

Aaron Shuster & Bobby Jensen
