When conflict leaves devastation in its wake, sometimes a warm meal can be a small yet powerful reminder that hope and support are still present. At the Make A Difference Foundation, we know that providing hot meals is more than just offering nourishment—it’s about lifting spirits and showing solidarity.
Why Warm Meals Matter Now More Than Ever
The recent conflict has left a profound impact on Israel’s soldiers and communities alike. Since October 7, 2023:

Over 10,000 rockets have been fired from Gaza into Israel.

840 Israeli soldiers have been killed defending the homeland.

Around 7,000 Israelis remain displaced from their homes in the south.

At the peak of the attacks, more than 75,500 Israelis were forced from their homes.
-
251 hostages were taken into Gaza,59 captives are still being held — 24 believed to be alive.
These numbers reflect the devastation and uncertainty that soldiers and civilians face every day. As the war efforts begin to shift toward peace and rebuilding, our mission is expanding to support not only the brave IDF soldiers on the front lines but also the families and communities impacted by this ongoing conflict.
Providing Warm Meals to Soldiers and Communities
Thanks to your generous support, we recently delivered hot meals to over 485 combat soldiers stationed near the northern border by Lebanon (in freezing conditions) and in the south next to Gaza. These meals were more than just food—they were moments of comfort and connection.
One soldier expressed it best:
“It’s been weeks since we had a proper meal. Sitting down to eat together reminded us of home, and it gave us strength to keep going.”
But as we look ahead, we’re expanding this program to include communities impacted by the conflict. Families who have been displaced or are enduring hardship will receive warm meals and essential supplies—not just to fill their stomachs but to remind them that they are not alone.
