We met Michael when Adam Shuster and Drora Shuster helped organize a Barbecue ( the first warm hot meal that these soldiers had in over four weeks. The barbecue was organized 2 Kilometers, one mile from Gaza. Mitch Ginsberg Mitch, Caira Ginsberg and Vlad פיפין and her husband Avi also helped cook the meal for 127 combatants. We had the honor of meeting amazing young and older Soldiers. Michael approached me and thanked me personally for the meal and important survival gear we gifted out. Flashlights for the weapons, tourniquets, First Aid, water bladders, watches, protective goggles and more. Each soldier received around $265 worth of equipment Michael Czermak 121 Brigade (gaza Bbq) thanked us very much ans asked me if we could possibly also provide better protective vests and also back braces. The protective vests that they were wearing were from my time in service, over forty years old.
Also, I didn’t even know what a back brace was. It wasn’t even invented back in my time. Sadly I had to tell Michael that unfortunately I don’t have enough of a budget for high-priced items and that is why we try to get the best prices on smaller items for the soldiers so that we can help more soldiers, then less. Over the last few months, we were able to scramble some more donations. Michael and I have been in constant touch. After a few more months, Michael got off from the army to go home and see his newborn son. MAZAL Tov to Michael. We spoke on the phone and he again asked about the newer, higher quality vests and back braces. I asked him if he could do a video so that I could show the video of him explaining why his team needed the better vests. He said he would make a video for me the next day when he got back to his unit. Unfortunately the day he got back to his unit, his team was ambushed. Two of his teammates died.
Michael was wounded in the arm and head. We spoke a few times on the phone. But it was hard for Michal to speak due to the headaches he was having. Slowly we were above to scrap together $9,500 to be able to order some vests. Each vest costs around $1,450 – $1,750 depending on the specific soldiers profession and needs. Each vest is itemized for the professional use of the exact soldier. No vest is the same. It is a lot of coordination. I want to thank Adam Shuster for taking care of all the details in Israel between each and every soldier and their fathers. Finally with Bobby Jensen’s help of negotiating with the protective vest manufacturer in Israel Make A Difference Foundation was able to get a 10% discount on the vests. The Vests are of the highest quality possible. They are the most bulletproof for against the weapons that the enemy has. Which is the AK 47, Russian made. The caliber is larger and stronger then the M-14 USA made that the Israelis use….Thankfully with all the logistics up and back from the manufacturer ans @Adam Shuster, some of the items delivered were not what was ordered, so Adam handled that as well. Yesterday Make A Difference Foundation was able to HAND DELIVER the much needed vests to SIX combat soldiers that unfortunately have to be in battle day and night. 24 hours a day. In the heat and humidity of Gaza and the North on the border of Lebanon. It is important for me to emphasize that we only provide equipment to the soldiers that are actually in the battle face to face with the enemy. Adam stated that we are all soldiers that were in battle and know what is needed and unfortunately have battled. I personally want to thank all the Make A Difference Foundation members for their donations. But Unfortunately We are in need of more Donations. Please go to the new website and do what you can to contribute and help us continue to help these special heroes succeed, free the hostages, destroy the enemy and come back to their homes, family’s and place of work safe and sound. If everyone can go to the website and do a $18 monthly recurring donation and get FIVE of their friends to do the same, then we can always have the money to continue to support these amazing individuals.
Thank you all for your teamwork, Leadership and Friendship, Aaron
