At the heart of the Make A Difference Foundation are the brave heroes who protect Israel every day — and the incredible supporters around the world who stand with them. Today, we’re honored to share stories of recognition, courage, and gratitude from IDF units and warriors whose lives you are directly impacting.
Hero Spotlight: Captain Yuval Doak — A True Lioness of Israel
This is the story of Captain Yuval Doak, commander of the Nahal Patrol — a woman whose bravery on October 7th has become a symbol of courage across Israel.
On that morning, she woke up to sirens and frantic reports.
Still in her pajamas, armed only with her pistol, she jumped into her car and raced toward the fighting to join and protect her soldiers.
On the way, she encountered a convoy of terrorists on motorcycles.
“I grabbed the steering wheel with my knees and started shooting,” she recounted.
Alone on the open road, she eliminated two terrorists and continued forward.
When the chain of command broke down, Yuval stepped in. She:
-
Directed forces
-
Coordinated aircraft
-
Saved many lives
-
And transformed her living room into a war operations center, leading the patrol until the battle was under control
Captain Doak is a true hero — a lioness of Israel — and she represents the strength and spirit of the soldiers who continue to thank MADF for standing with them.
Heartwarming Moment: Released Hostage Segev Kalfon at the Kotel
In a moving moment at the Kotel, newly released hostage Segev Kalfon stood beside his father as he received the Birkat Kohanim — the Priestly Blessing.
A reminder of resilience, hope, and the miracles we continue to witness.

A Delivery That Crossed a Continent — Thank You, James Marlow
Last week we thanked James Marlow for gathering the last remaining protective goggles and tactical lights.
This week, we celebrate him again — because the mission is complete.
As co-founder Aaron Shuster shared:
“Another delivery from Arizona, USA to Israel.
Essential items for soldiers successfully delivered to our Israeli Make A Difference Foundation members in Israel for hand delivery to Warriors on the front lines!”
James traveled by Uber → plane → light rail → train to Jerusalem to make this happen.
Thank you James from Arizona, and Adam from Israel. Your courage and dedication are an inspiration to us all.
